Fathers Incorporated, the leading national non-profit for the promotion of responsible fatherhood will celebrate its 15th Anniversary with an awards ceremony and gala taking place at The Historic Friendship Baptist Church in Atlanta’s beloved Westside Community on October 22, 2019, at 7:00 pm.
For 15 years, Fathers Incorporated (FI) has stayed true to its mission of engaging, empowering and equipping a community network of fathers and families by creating an environment of support, parental education, positive societal narratives, and a father-focused blueprint to elevate the awareness of responsible fatherhood.
This year’s theme, The Blueprint: Reimaging the Narrative of the Modern Dad is about getting the broader society to think differently about dads. This has been at the heart of Fathers Incorporated’s 15-year journey in the field of fatherhood. Today, more than ever, society struggles with what it wants to see in dads and how it can support that effort.
Kenneth Braswell, CEO of Fathers Incorporated states, “The selected awardees have demonstrated their commitment to advancing the work and promotion of positive father involvement in the lives of their children and families.”
Fathers Incorporated is embarking on a stellar year as being the prime contractor for the National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse (NRFC), which is part of the Office of Children and Families under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for the past 8 years. The current contract is the largest singular investment ever for a nonprofit to manage Responsible Fatherhood on behalf of the Federal Government at $19M.
The company is also a promoter of closing the literacy gap through their program, Real Dads Read aimed at elementary and middle school-aged children (K-8) and their fathers/male caregivers. FI has partnered with schools and barbershops throughout the state of Georgia, launching 83 literacy centers and donating over 10,000 books through their partnership with Little Free Library and Hachette Publishing.
FI has had the support of countless significant partners throughout the years with nonprofits such as The United Way of Greater Atlanta, Annie E. Casey Foundation, Walton Family Foundation, Literacy for All, University For Parents, and many others helping to implement professional development, life skills and direct service contributions.
